Leaders, remember that there is a difference between "𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀" and "𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀".
Workers are the accountants who play with numbers because they like being able to see through the fog of a spreadsheet, or the programmers who program because they like puzzles.
Managers like people (𝘢𝘵 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘰𝘳𝘺).
They like talking with people.
They are good with the intangibles, the squishy bits.
Just as a manager likes to chat, a developer likes to develop.
A good manager remembers that meetings are for 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺, 𝘯𝘰𝘵 for himself.
Anyone who force daily stand-ups and/or weekly meetings are taking your employees away from what they want to do - what they were hired to do.
They may begin to resent their job, making them and your business less productive.
Have a chat when you or your team need/want to talk, but do not just have a call because it is a weekly (or even daily) ritual.
